ATHLETICS
UNFAVOURABLE conditions faced seven athletes from Harlow Running Club as they competed in the High Ongar 10km race.
Light rain and blustery winds were the order of the day in Essex as a field that boasted some of the finest runners from the area prepared for the run.
It was a respectable outing from the Harlow athletes as both the men and women came home in good times.
The first runner to cross the line for Harlow was John Tennant who finished in 40mins 02secs.
Shortly behind him was John Evans who came home in 40mins 33secs, with Colin Moody just a further seven seconds behind.
Grahame Thomas was next to finish in 44mins 16secs and Graham Saville followed with 52mins 48secs.
Performing superbly for the Harlow ladies was Joanne Mills, who run a V60 club record time of 56mins 34secs.
She was followed home by Wendy Spring who completed the course in a time of 59mins 54secs.
