A MAN was robbed while he picnicked with friends in Harlow on Saturday.

The 18-year-old victim was with several friends at Netteswell Orchard, in the Town Park area, at about 5.30pm when he was approached by three men, who took some bottles of alcohol from him in a "threatening way", police said.

A police spokesman said the victim was forced to hand over his wallet containing £80 in cash.

The robbers ran off with the cash, a bottle of beer, a bottle of vodka and a Sainsbury shopping bag containing various items.

The men were white Europeans, aged between 18 and 21, slim and with fair short hair.

Anyone with any information should ring Detective Constable Kerstin Chissel, at Harlow CID, on 01279 625416.
