Girls team conquer Vikings to do the double

HARLOW Town's U16 girls team sensationally won the double with a stunning 8-1 defeat of Assandun Vikings in the Plate Final at Barrows Farm.

After taking the title in division B of the Essex County Girls League last month, Lee Favell's side took their momentum into last Sunday's semi-final, where they notched an impressive 5-3 win against Barking Ladies.

This was followed by Sunday morning's final, where having going in 4-0 to the good at half-time, they rounded off their season in style.

A double presentation of the league trophy and plate was made by club Vice-Chairman Simon Morgan following the game.

Manager Favell said: "The game was a culmination of all the hard work the girls have put in.

"It's been a pleasure to have seen their improvement over the season, with the coaching of Craig Charles and Francesca Tye.

"I'd also like to thank my assistant, Dave Tye, for his motivational and tactical help."
