Taylor winner keeps Hawks afloat
FOOTBALL
Harlow 2
Boreham Wood 1
(Ryman Premier)
MARK Taylor grabbed the all-important winner as Harlow came from behind to clinch a vital victory in their bid to beat the drop.
The defender curled a free kick in just inside the post on 63 minutes after Leon Lalite had been sent sprawling on the edge of the box.
The goal capped a remarkable turnaround at Barrows Farm on Tuesday night and kept the club just clear of the relegation zone.
Rivals Boreham Wood had taken a 40th minute lead when Leon Archer shrugged off Hawks player-boss Ryan Kirby before rounding keeper James Hassell and slotting into the empty net.
Hawks drew level soon after the interval, livewire Danny Green's steering his effort home after after Rhys Henry's initial shot was blocked.
Harlow created the better chances early on, with Kenny Davis in particular missing a gilt-edge opportunity after a cross from Rhys Henry.
At the other end, Hassell pushed a Chris Bangura effort around the foot of his right hand post and Beckett Hollenbach blocked Archer's shot on the goal line.
And, in the dying second, Harlow rode their luck once more as Paul Armstrong put the ball wide the goal gaping.
Harlow: Hasell, Davis (Shaun Gliddon 88), Taylor, Hollenbach, Kirby, Chapman, Lalite, Green, Bunn (Lindie 84), Fowler (Akers 77), Henry. Unused subs: Obaze, Dumoulin.
