London Freeze, a brand new snow sports and music festival, takes over Battersea Power Station for four days. With live acts including Cypress Hill, The Enemy, The Holloways, Example and The Automatic as well as the UK’s biggest ever snow jump, an international freestyle ski event and movie premiers.

Eel Pie alt.popsters Mystery Jets perform perky prog-pop from their latest album '21' at the Astoria.

As part of the BBC Electric Proms The Streets are at the Roundhouse with support from eclectic prolific singer/songwriter/producer Santogold (aka Santi White - the driving force behind Res’s chart topping debut 'How I Do' as well as being lead singer in uncategorisable band Stiffed).

Ben Sherman's series of four gigs in four UK cities entitled The Big British Sound: Best of Festivals concludes at 229 Great Portland Street featuring Danish rock'n'rollers The Raveonettes, The Bookhouse Boys, Liam Fray (of The Courteeners), Little Man Tate and a DJ set from The Horrors.

Easy Star All-Stars specialise in covering entire classic albums in a reggae style, having previously turned their hands to Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and Radiohead's OK Computer to fantastic effect. They bring their super-tight modern dub sound to Dingwalls.

The BBC Electric Proms wraps up with headliners Oasis (featuring Ennio Morricone collaborators 50-piece choir Crouch End Festival Chorus) and support from Scottish rockers Glasvegas at the Roundhouse.

Malian kora (a 21-string West African harp) legend Toumani Diabate joins the London Symphony Orchestra to perform new arrangements from his critically acclaimed solo album 'Mande Variations'.

Autobiographical and political singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco plays at the Forum as part of an extensive 27-date international tour to promote her latest album (her eighteenth) 'Red Letter Year'.
