MORE than 100 horses turned out in the sweltering heat for the horse show and open day at Ada Cole Stables, Broadley Common.
The show featured horses not just from the stables but also from nearby foster homes and private owners.
Competitions were run in categories ranging from show jumping to the best coloured horse and pony, as well as classes for best condition and the veterans.
Prizes were presented by Pet Rescue presenter Wendy Turner, who has filmed her television programme at the stables in the past, and knows the stables well.
Other attractions included a small dog show, stalls and activities.
A major highlight was a demonstration by horse whisperer Richard Maxwell.
Welfare officer Jo Franklin said: "It was a very popular demonstration and wonderful to see. He showed how to load a very difficult horse into a horse lorry in a nice way without scaring it or making any fuss."
Owing to the heat the show finished early to get the horses out of the sun, but with a few hundred people turning up to the event it was still a popular day out.
