HARLOW: Hospital bosses seek "special people"

BOSSES at Princess Alexandra Hospital have launched special Diamond Commendation Award' to commend employees who have made a real difference to patients.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is asking patients, relatives and staff to nominate people who have gone that extra mile to help others. The awards will be part of a week-long celebration to mark the 60th anniversary of the NHS, on July 5.

The deadline for nominations is May 30.

Chief workforce officer Alan Farmer said: "It's important that the work of our staff is recognised. We're encouraging everyone who visits the trust to nominate anyone they feel is worthy. This ceremony is part of the re-launch of our general NHS Princess Commendation Awards.In the past we've had some heart-warming nominations and no doubt we will continue to get more."
